Renofa _manufactured by Faran Shimi Pharmaceutical company_ contains the active ingredient Sevelamer carbonate, is indicated for the control of hyperphosphatemia in adult and pediatric patients (≥6 years of age and a Body Surface Area (BSA) of ≥0.75 m2). Renofa is supplied in 800mg tablets for oral administration. 15 tablets are packed in a blister and 4 blisters are packaged in one box with a leaflet.
Renofa is used to lower high blood phosphate levels.
• Take 2 capsules once or twice daily with food and full glass of water.
Caution should be taken in concomitant use with anticoagulants, such as heparin or warfarin and antiplatelets, such as aspirin, clopidogrel or ticlopidine.
The risk or benefit to the mother and infant should be considered.
Take it as soon as you remember, don’t exceed the recommended dose.
If you think there has been an overdose, call your doctor, pharmacist, or other health care provider right away.
Hypersensitivity to sulfonamide, collagen, hyaluronic acid or any component of formulation.
Use with caution in people with bleeding disorders, hepatic impairment or respiratory problems especially asthma.
No side effects have been reported if the recommended dose is followed. Excessive consumption may lead to:
• skin allergy, hives and itching.
• Gastrointestinal complications such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation and flatulence.
• Increased risk of bleeding, especially in patients with blood disorders.
• Respiratory discomfort, especially in patients with asthma.
• Headache
