Faroxyphen tablets _manufactured by Faran Shimi Pharmaceutical Company_ contain 325mg acetaminophen/5mg oxycodone and 325mg acetaminophen/10mg oxycodone. 10 tablets are packed in a blister and 3 blisters are packaged in one box with a leaflet.
Faroxyphen is used to ease pain.
• Use this drug as ordered by your doctor. Follow all instructions closely.
• Take with or without food. Take with food if it causes an upset stomach.
• Do not take this drug with other strong pain drugs or if you are using a pain patch without talking to your doctor first.
Avoid taking other products that have acetaminophen in them. Check labels closely. Too much acetaminophen may cause liver problems.
Tell your doctor if you are taking any of these drugs:
• Buprenorphine, Butorphanol, Nalbuphine, or Pentazocine.
• Benzodiazepines drugs (alprazolam, diazepam, and lorazepam).
• Isocarboxazid, Phenelzine, Tranylcypromine, Selegiline, or Rasagiline (or other certain drugs for Depression or Parkinson’s disease in the last 14 days).
• Linezolid or methylene blue.
• Alcohol or products that have alcohol.
• If you are breast-feeding, do not breast-feed while you take this drug.
• This drug may cause harm to the unborn baby if you take it while you are pregnant. If you are pregnant or you get pregnant while taking this drug, call your doctor.
Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, plan on getting pregnant, or are breast-feeding. You will need to talk about the benefits and risks to you and the baby
Misuse or abuse of this drug can lead to overdose. If you think there has been an overdose, call your doctor, pharmacist, or other health care provider right away. (Learn more about the misuse)
• Do not use if you are allergic to acetaminophen, oxycodone or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
• The chance of very bad and sometimes deadly breathing problems may be greater when you first start this drug or anytime your dose is raised.
• Before taking Faroxyphen®, tell your doctor if you Have a/an: Lung or breathing problems like asthma, trouble breathing or sleep apnea, high levels of carbon dioxide in the blood; or stomach or bowel block or narrowing.
• Avoid driving and doing other tasks or actions that call for you to be alert until you see how this drug affects you.
• To lower the chance of feeling dizzy or passing out, rise slowly if you have been sitting or lying down. Be careful going up and down stairs.
• This drug may raise the chance of seizures in some people, including people who have had seizures in the past. Talk to your doctor to see if you have a greater chance of seizures while taking this drug.
• Long-term use of an opioid drug like this drug may lead to lower sex hormone levels. This may lead to signs like change in sex ability in men, no menstrual period in women, lowered interest in sex, or fertility problems. Call your doctor if you have any of these signs.
• This drug may affect certain lab tests. Tell your health care providers and lab workers that you take this drug.
• If you are 65 or older, use this drug with care.
All drugs may cause side effect. However, many people have no side effects or only have minor side effects. Call your doctor or pharmacist if any of these side effects or any other side effects bother you or do not go away.
-Side effects require medical attention as soon as possible:
• Allergic reactions (rash, hives, swelling of the face, wheezing, tightness in the chest, trouble breathing).
• Signs of liver problems like dark urine, feeling tired, upset stomach or stomach pain, throwing up, or yellow skin or eyes.
• Very bad dizziness or passing out.
• Fast or slow heartbeat.
• Not able to pass urine or change in how much urine is passed.
• Very bad constipation.
• Change in eyesight.
• Trouble breathing, slow breathing, or shallow breathing.
• Confusion; hallucinations; fever or chills; mood change; memory problems or loss; trouble walking; trouble speaking; shakiness; seizures.
• Any unexplained bruising or bleeding.
-Side effects require medical attention if it persists or worsens:
Feeling dizzy, sleepy, tired, constipation, stomach pain, upset stomach or throwing up.
