Forbetmin Extended Release tablets _manufactured by Faran Shimi Pharmaceutical Company_ is supplied in 500mg Metformin Hydrochloride. 15 tablets are packed in a blister and 4 blisters are packaged in one box with a leaflet.
It is used to lower blood sugar in patients with high blood sugar (diabetes).
• Use this drug as ordered by your doctor. Follow all instructions closely.
• Take with the evening meal if taking once daily.
• Swallow whole. Do not chew, break, or crush.
Tell your doctor and pharmacist about all of your drugs (prescription or OTC, natural products, vitamins).
Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, plan on getting pregnant, or are breast-feeding. You will need to talk about the benefits and risks to you and the baby.
Skip the missed dose and go back to your normal time unless your doctor tells you to do something else. Do not take 2 doses at the same time or extra doses.
If you think there has been an overdose, call your doctor, pharmacist, or other health care provider right away.
• Do not use if you are allergic to Metformin or any other part of this drug.
• If you have any of these health problems: Acidic blood problem, kidney disease, or liver disease.
• If you have had a recent heart attack or stroke.
• If you are not able to eat or drink like normal, including before certain procedures or surgery.
• If you are having an exam or test with contrast or have had one within the past 48 hours, talk with your doctor.
• Avoid driving if your blood sugar has been low. There is a greater chance of you having a crash.
• If you are 65 or older, use this drug with care.
• Be careful in hot weather or while being active. Drink lots of fluids to stop fluid loss.
• If diarrhea happens or you are throwing up, call your doctor. You will need to drink more fluids to keep from losing too much fluid.
• There is a chance of pregnancy in women of childbearing age who have not been ovulating. If you want to avoid pregnancy, use birth control that you can trust while taking this drug.
All drugs may cause side effect. However, many people have no side effects or only have minor side effects. Call your doctor or pharmacist if any of these side effects or any other side effects bother you or do not go away.
-Side effects require medical attention as soon as possible:
• Allergic reactions (rash, hives, swelling of the face, wheezing, tightness in the chest, trouble breathing).
• Very bad belly pain.
• Stomach problems during treatment (stomach problems like upset stomach, throwing up, heartburn or diarrhea is common when you start taking this drug).
• Signs of low blood sugar (dizziness, headache, feeling sleepy, tired or weak, shaking, fast heartbeat, confusion, hunger, or sweating)
