Oxycodone Hydrochloride is a morphine-like semi synthetic opioid alkaloid that exerts its analgesic effects by activating of mu opioid receptors in the central nervous system and mimicking the effects of endogenous opioids. Oxycodone also inhibits the release of vasopressin, somatostatin, insulin, and glucagon. In addition, it inhibits voltage-dependent calcium channels, leading to hyperpolarization and reduced neuronal stimulation.
