Forbetmin Extended Release tablets _manufactured by Faran Shimi Pharmaceutical Company_ is supplied in 500mg Metformin Hydrochloride. 15 tablets are packed in a blister and 4 blisters are packaged in one box with a leaflet.
It is used to lower blood sugar in patients with high blood sugar (diabetes).
Dosing:
Adults and children over 12 years: 1 capsule twice daily
Administer with or without food.
Caution should be considered in concomitant use with Iron, Calcium salts, Cardiac glycosides, Warfarin, Fluphenazine, Tetracyclines, Bisphosphonates, Deferoxamine, Quinolones, Immunosuppressant and Contraceptive agents.
• Pelaroka plus should not be used by pregnant women.
• Pelaroka plus should not be used by breastfeeding mothers.
• Take a missed dose as soon as you think about it.
• If it’s close to the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your normal time.
• Do not take 2 doses at the same time or extra doses.
If you think there has been an overdose, call your doctor, pharmacist, or other health care provider right away.
• Hypersensitivity to P.s. or any component of formulation
• Diseases of the immune system (e.g., MS, SLE, RA)
• Severe hepatic and renal impairment
• Hyperoxaluria
• High doses of vitamin C should be used with caution in patient with Favism (G6PD deficiency).
• If patient’s condition does not improve within one week, fever lasting for several days, shortness of breath, blood in the sputum, yellowing eyes/skin, nausea, vomiting, dark urine, abdominal pain, unusual tiredness and loss of appetite; discontinue medications.
• Stop taking this at least two weeks before a scheduled surgery.
Pelaroka plus is possibly safe, but rarely and in high doses may occurs following side effects:
Hypersensitivity, Hyperoxaluria, Stomach pain, Heartburn, Nausea, Diarrhea.
