Introduction

Renofa _manufactured by Faran Shimi Pharmaceutical company_ contains the active ingredient Sevelamer carbonate, is indicated for the control of hyperphosphatemia in adult and pediatric patients (≥6 years of age and a Body Surface Area (BSA) of ≥0.75 m2). Renofa is supplied in 800mg tablets for oral administration. 15 tablets are packed in a blister and 4 blisters are packaged in one box with a leaflet.

Renofa is used to lower high blood phosphate levels.

How to store Renofa?

  • Store at 20° to 25°C (room temperature) and protect from moisture and light.
  • Keep out of the reach and sight of children.

How to use Renofa?

• Take with meals.
• Swallow whole. Do not chew, break, or crush.

What other drugs could affect Renofa?

• This drug may affect how much of some other drugs are in your body. If you are taking other drugs, talk with your doctor. You may need to have your blood work checked more closely while taking this drug with your other drugs.

Is Renofa safe during pregnancy and breastfeeding?

• Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan on getting pregnant. You will need to talk about the benefits and risks of using this drug while you are pregnant.
• Tell your doctor if you are breast-feeding. You will need to talk about any risks to your baby.

What to do if you miss a dose?

• Take a missed dose as soon as you think about it.
• If it’s close to the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your normal time.
• Do not take 2 doses at the same time or extra doses.

What to do if you overdose?

If you think there has been an overdose, call your doctor, pharmacist, or other health care provider right away.

• Patients who are hypersensitive to sevelamer, or any component of the formulation.
• Patients with bowel block.
